MUSIC MONDAY
TESLA BOY - Runaway Man

Tesla Boy is what I’ve been waiting for, a throwback 80s electro pop band, with no problem embracing the over-the-top aesthetics that made the 80s the decade of excess. Tesla Boy is fun, sweaty, and relentless is their pursuit of making you dance.
This Russian trio manages to stand out from peers like Cut Copy or Ladyhawke by ditching the guitars and structuring their tracks more like DJ cuts than indie rock songs. There’s no sense of cool or nonchalance to be found, no attempts to blur genre lines, just a complete sense of three dudes having the time of their lives.
Tesla Boy is full of ear candy, nonstop dance beats, and huge hooks. I don’t even want to talk about it anymore. Just look at the band and their logo and know that it’s everything you’ve been looking for.
These tracks come from the band’s 2009 EP, Tesla Boy. Keep an eye out for the band’s debut full length due out this summer. Oh and watch this live video below. Party hard, my friends!
NEW MUSIC MONDAYS
DELOREAN - Deli

Has it been a week already? Hopefully you all had a great holiday like I did. It was nice to close my laptop and relax in the warm southern weather for a minute. But as with all good things, the Thanksgiving holiday is over and it’s back to the grind.
Although it’s starting to get brisk here in New Jersey, I’ve been keeping warm with the sunny dance pop of Barcelona’s Delorean. Their newest EP, Ayrton Senna, is a flawless batch of upbeat, dreamy, disco-laden fun that hasn’t left my music rotation in months. Tracks like “Deli” and “Seasun” conjure memories of carefree optimism, packaged in an indefatigable cool, and sophisticated suaveness. Having already made some noise online by remixing groups like Franz Ferdinand, The XX, and The Teenagers, Delorean has garnered early support from Fader, Pitchfork Media, and NME. With a new album planned for 2010, the band will hopefully bring the party stateside. Until then, sit back and close your eyes, and let Delorean take you someplace warm.
