Jonsi: Behind the Scenes Videos

My love for Jonsi is no secret. I’ve been championing him ever since the first tracks from his impending solo album made their way onto the net. To add to my fanboy lameness, I clamored to get tickets for his NYC show on May 8th and in a lapse of judgement, purchased four tickets before asking any friends if they wanted to go. The result was my brother also purchasing four tickets, and today, here we sit with 8 tickets to Jonsi at Terminal 5 and only three attendees.

Do I care that I’m out over a hundred bucks? Not really, because this tour looks sweet! Check out these behind the scenes videos of the set construction for Jonsi’s tour. I’ve got some high expectations!

Oh and does anybody want to buy some Jonsi tickets for May 8th at Terminal 5 in NYC? I’ve, uh, got a few extras.

JONSI - Boy Lilikoi

Jonsi

The web was abuzz this past week with the debut track from Jonsi, AKA Jon Thor Birgisson, frontman for symphonic post-rockers Sigur Ros and one half of minimalist mood creators, Jonsi and Alex. The track, “Boy Lilikoi,” is a gorgeously lush arrangement akin to the most epic and over-the-top moments of Sigur Ros, with one small twist: it’s sung in English. The album, GO, was arranged by Nico Muhly (Antony and the Johnsons, Mew) and produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National). It will be released on XL Recordings on March 23rd, followed by a world tour.
